Rojo has just arrived and we absolutely love this fine looking, well-mannered jack. We jumped at the chance to own this Heiken's Ark Top Gun great grandson when we heard he was for sale because we needed to add taller donkeys into our herd. We had sold all of our taller donkeys when we did not show for a period of three years. Now that we are back on the show circuit sometimes our tiny donkeys get overlooked by the judges. We are thrilled to add Rojo's bloodlines into our herd. We think he will cross great with our Bruise and Zoo daughters and produce well-mannered, trainable show donkeys that will catch the judge's eyes. Rojo's pedigree is completely full with no unknowns.
Photos and videos were taken with the expert help of my wonderful handler, Katie Randall. We ran out of daylight before we could take videos of him driving and doing in-hand trail work but we will add those photos later. It was too cold to clip Rojo so he is in his natural coat. Rojo measured just a hair over 33" and he is undoubtably the most laid back jack we have ever been around. I can't wait for everyone to see him. He is one of the most gorgeous jacks I have ever seen. He is a delight to handle too...what a combination. A big 'thank you!' goes out to Warner Neumann, LaNell Arndt and Debbie Lee of Cedar Oaks Farm in Breham, Texas for allowing Rojo to come live at Half Ass Acres.

about Bruise. I think his pictures say it all but just let me
say this is one stout boy. His wide chest, his stocky build, his
heavy bone structure, that perfect small baby doll head, all are
the makings of a Jr. Herd Sire if I ever did see one. Bruise has
blue/grey eyes like several of his half brothers and sisters sired
by Itsy Bitsy Front and Center. He weighed in at 25 ½ lbs
and only 20 ¾ inches tall at birth. It was evident this little
black hunk could deliver a “knock-out punch” in the pasture
with the girls, or in the ring…that is show ring.
The photos above were taken August 26th, 2010.
Bruise was bred to three of our girls for foals due in the spring and fall of 2016.
Dam: Arrow Creek Bunny 32½" MSF Gray
Grand Sire: Arrow Creek Diaz, 30¾" Gray-Dun
Grand Dam: B. J. Pretty Girl, 33½"

Zoo is a true black and white...no matter what time of the year it is his black stays as black as black can be. He is heavy boned with a beautiful straight topline, straight wide legs with good width between them. He is also a 'no light point' carrier. He has a very easy going temperement to compliment his great looks. Zoo has only produced dark spots or solid darks and according to my friend, Marlene Clark, that I consider a genetics/color expert it is not possible for Zoo to produce the dun color (unless he is bred to a jennet carrying the dun gene) because he is not carrying a copy of the dun gene. He has proven that in the past by not producing a single dun color when bred to all of Marlene's black jennets. Dun is dominant and it is not possible for it to hide. If it was present it would be expressed in his offspring. We are looking forward to see what he will produce for us in the future. He is now pastured with five of our jennets for foals due in the fall of 2016. Thank you to Marlene and Connie for selling this fine jack to us. Zoo is here to stay!
These fantastic photos and videos would not have been possible without the expert handling of Katie Randall!!

Kryptonite just arrived at Half Ass Acre. He is now turned out with three of our jennet's for foals due in November of 2016. We will be taking photos and videos soon but it has turned to cold to body clip him. He has the tiniest, cutest head you have ever seen. His legs are very wide and correct. We are very excited to see what he will produce for us in 2016.
Thanks to Katie Randall for making these fanstastic photos and video possible and for her mom, Maria, for doing the chores while we took them. You two are the best ever!!
