In the wee hours of the morning Bessie gave birth to the prettiest, no light point, jennet. Her color still has us guessing from time to time but after taking and looking at many pictures it has been decided she is very dark brown with no light points. I must say her adoring personality captured our attention and our hearts and once again we were “smitten” by another beautiful foal born to us at Half Ass Acres. Nothing would do but we name this beautiful little girl for what had taken place in our hearts. We were “smitten” with love for her.

Smitten wears her progeny well, taking the best from her gene pool and sporting around the pastures holding her head up high as if to say, “Surely you are “smitten” with my beauty”…and she is right. She is as stocky as she can be and stands so straight and tall. Her bite is perfect, her legs are perfect, and she is a perfect match for us.

We would love to have you visit our farm so you, too, can be “smitten” with the charm this little girl has to offer. She comes with that guarantee for sure. All the hugs and kisses she will give you are free!

Smitten has been body clipped and new photos and videos were taken on September 15th, 2015, one week after giving birth to her very first foal.

Smitten has been pastured with Zoo since July 16th, 2016, but we do not know if she has settled in foal yet or not. Her last heat cycle was on 7/17/16. She appears to be very much in foal although we have not had her tested.

Smitten is the dam of one foal:

1) HHAA Cahoots, 9/08/15, spotted jack.

2) Smitten's second foal will be due in July of 2017.

Glorianna had so many wonderful foals for us and this little girl is another one we simply love. She is a very dark one with no light points and she has the cutest personality. She was making squeaking sounds while she was being born and has never stopped. When we call her or she see us coming she almost sounds like a little baby pig squeaking. Be sure to watch her video on YouTube and you will see and hear what I mean.

Tyger is very petite and small in statue. She has the best of her sire's and dam's attributes and wears her progeny well. She has remained small.

This little gal was named by Joe. He does not get to name many of our foals since I am always picking out names. We decided he would name her and he immediately named her Paper Tyger. Tyger is so full of personality and adds so much excitement to our pasture. She is always running around sticking her nose into everything and making the cutest little sounds. She walks and talks, she runs and talks, and she stands while you pet her and talks. What a unique little girl. No, she is not a pig, she only makes piglet sounds.

Photos and videos were taken on August 19th, 2015, a few days after she had her first foal, so she is a little out of shape.

Paper Tyger has been pastured with Zoo since July 16th, 2016. We never did observe her in season so we have no idea when she is due to foal. She appears to be due for around July/August.

Update!! March 3rd, 2017, Tyger has been vet tested to be safe in foal!!

Paper Tyger is the dam of one foal:

1) HHAA Paper Doll House, 8/15/15, Dark Jennet w/NLP

2) Tyger's second foal will be due in July 2017.

They don't come any blacker nor sweeter than this girl. BB came all the way from Iowa when Poderosa Donkey Farm dispersed their herd and retired from raising donkeys. BB has a very nice topline and she is a beautiful mover. We are looking forward to what she will produce.

BB has been bred to Zoo for her first foal that will be due on October 8th, 2017. This will be her very first foal.

Update!! March 3rd, 2017, BB has been vet tested to be safe in foal!!

Click MDR sticker to see Miniature Donkey Registry Pedigree Lucia's complete pedigree!

Lucia is a beautiful jennet with outstanding conformation. She has the sweetest, most laid back disposition and she passes a good sound mind on to her foals. Her foals have performed really well in the show ring.

Her first foal, KKR Good As Gold, stood Grand Champion Jack four times with limited showing.

KKR IsABell - Izzy stood Grand Champion Junior Donkey at the ADMS Nationals in 2006. And she was NMDA Junior National Champion at the NMDA Nationals, just to name a few.

KKR King's Ransom has won in halter and pre-green performance classes, and in 2008 her foal Black Swede sold to Cindy Benson in Oregon.

Oh my how these photos do not do this jennet justice. She needs to be body clipped next spring and we will have a do over with her photo shoot. This jennet is really drop dead gorgeous with a personality to match. You have to see her in person to really appreciate her. She will be crossed with Zoo when we decide to breed her. Thank you to Kathy and Larry Van Epps at Fleur de Lys Farm in Wisconsin for allowing Lucia to come live at Half Ass Acres. She is here to stay!

Lucia is now pastured with Zoo. Her last heat cycle was on October 16th, 2016. Hopefully she settled in foal as we have not seen her back 'in' since October of last year.

Lucia has produced the following foals:

1) KKR Good as Gold, 3/12/04, Black Jack multiple Grand Champion;

2) KKR IsABell, 2005, Black Jennet, 2006 NMDA/ADMS National Champion Jennet;

3) KKR King's Ransom, 4/12/07, Black Jack;

4) KKR Black Swede, 5/28/08, Black Jack;

5) KKR Rumor Has It, 9/26/09, Black Jennet;

6) Fleur de Lys Zoe, 11/26/10, Dark Brown MSF Jennet.

7) Lucia's next foal will be due in October of 2017.

Click MDR sticker to see Miniature Donkey Registry Pedigree Bell's complete pedigree!

Bell is a very stocky little jennet. She is wide bodied, has good, straight legs and bone, and has the prettiest little dish face. We have always admired Bell's sire, Flight of Fancy Cardinal RG, and her grand sire, My World Winston, so we were very pleased to add her to our herd. Bell has a nice round rear end, a perfect bite with show quality conformation with a super wide chest to die for. She is friendly, sweet and a comical donkey to have around. Bell has been DNA tested at The Texas A& M University.

A special 'thank-you!' to my friend, Dena Wilson, who expertly handled Bell for her photo session.

We sold Bell in 2009 and she returned to Half Ass Acres in 2016. She has only had one foal since she has been gone. Bell's previous owner decided she was just too nice of a jennet to not be reproducing.

Bell is now pastured with Zoo. Her last heat cycle was on October 28th, 2016, and we have not observed her back 'in' since last October.

Bell has produced two foals:

1) HHAA Lullaby Lilly, 4/28/10, dark gray jennet w/NLP

2) Fleur de Lys Blue Bell, 9/20/11, Black Jennet
