Katie arrived here on April 5th, 2006, along with her stablemate, 758's Sophia, both purchased from Turnpike Creek Farm. We are more than pleased with both of them!

Katie has had one foal:

HHAA Count Jackula Count Jackula - copyright HAA Miniature Donkeys10/31/07, red gelding w/star.
Katie has been bred back to Firefly for a July 23rd, 2009 foal. Katie is perfect in every way and the only reason she was sold was to make room for all the jennet foals we have kept this year. We are going to miss you, Katie!

Daphne is a sweetheart of a donkey with a beautiful head. She has a lot of roaning throughout her coat. Daphne was checked NOT in foal by an exterior ultrasound at UT vet school in Knoxville on 11/19/07. We have owned her for over six months and her previous owner had her for two years. Since she has never had a foal according to her breeder we are now offering Daphne as a barren jennet. You could not ask for a sweeter jennet. Easy to catch and work with and up to date on all vaccinations. She would make a fantastic driving donkey, companion or just a wonderful pet. She will have a current negative coggins and a health certificate if sold out of state.

Eve catches your eye with her dark red color, captures your heart with her endearing personality, and melts in your arms as she runs to get her hugs and scratches. She is truly the “Apple of OUR Eye” and always will be special to us.

Summer Sunrise, and her half sister, Strawberry Jam, were born only 9 days apart 10 years ago in 1998. They have always been together and when sold they have always been sold together. This is the last home they will ever have and we are so proud to say we own these two girls. Their pedigree is highly sought after, as their sire, The Fireman, is no longer producing foals. We are so lucky to have these two girls as permanent residents of Half Ass Acres.

It took us a couple days to get Eve’s photos as it was a very rainy afternoon and night when she was born, and the next day was so cloudy and dreary that no way would we get her outside in the mud and clouds for a photo session. I am sure glad we waited so you would be able to she her at her very best…..outstanding in all ways....(compact body, great legs, perfect bite, endearing personality, soft eyes, rich color, and excellent pedigree).

Just born and she's a knockout so we had to name her Voilà which means 'behold' and is used to call attention to or express satisfaction or approval with a thing shown or accomplished, or to suggest an appearance as if by magic. It is pronounced 'vwä-lä' (wallah). Thank you to her grandmother, Linda Trimnell, for naming her. She has no light points anywhere...dark nose, eye rings, belly, etc. Napoleon sure started off his breeding career with a bang!

Bessie has produced herself only better! A sign of a great brood jennet. This little girl has two dark eyes with dark eyeliner all around..wide chest...perfect bite. A wonderful spot pattern almost perfectly symetrical with four dark legs except for two rear white fetlocks. Thank you to Deby Cochran for coming up with the perfect name for this little girl.

A daughter of the legendary Fireman!!! Sugar Fire is bred to Sunset Acres May Day, a 32¾" red (sorrel) jack, for a September 2004 foal. She is not guaranteed bred as we do not own the jack she was exposed to but she looks like she is in foal to me. Sugar Fire has a perfect bite and is very correct and stocky with a nice round rear end. She has the perfect donkey personality. Friendly, but not a pest, and very intelligent and willing.

Ali is a gorgeous red and white spotted jack with dark maroon red eyeliner all the way around both eyes...four white legs. We have never had one stay red and white..they usually turn dark brown and white after they shed their foal coat...time will tell. One of our very favorite jennets, Penny, certainly had a surprise waiting for us when we checked her Oct. 27, on our late night patrol. Penny has always given us some of our nicest foals and we were very anxious to be with her for her foal this time. Since Penny is getting up in years we had decided this would be her very last foal. We want her to live out the rest of her life at Half Ass Acres just doing what ever she decides to do. She has complete run of the farm now and everywhere she goes you see little Dancer right beside his mother just enjoying her company.

My good friends, Amanda and Cathy Lewis, were here when Dancer was born and they helped us name this little guy. He is adorable and one of the sweetest little guys we’ve had this year. He has his mom’s gentleness and just loves to be close to you when you are in his paddock.

Dancer is a gorgeous deep brown color with NLPs and has some roaning in his coat. He has an alert head, dark eye rings with big dark eyes that look at you with so much love and kindness. I know you’ve heard the expression, “Save the Last Dance For Me” - well, this little guy can be saved for you. He is truly Penny’s “last dance” and we could not be more pleased with this precious foal. He is a true example of both his sire, Napoleon, and his dam, Penny. He carries the best qualities from both of these donkeys.

We are offering Dancer For Sale as a jack or as a gelding. He has the qualities to be either and make you very proud to own him. We have been so lucky to have Penny and now we feel it’s time for us to share her off-spring with others.

“Tis the Season" to be thinking about what to give someone you love, and what better gift than a Miniature Donkey that will be a gift to always remember. We are offering some of our other little guys as jacks and geldings, too, so just take a look and reserve that Special Person that Special Gift this year!

Call now to make an appointment to come see Dancer. He will be weaned around the first of March 2008. We are more than happy to have you visit, play, groom, and just get to know him while he is here with us waiting to be weaned from Penny to come to your farm.

Chills, Chills, Chills, is what you get when you see this boy! The minute we saw him we could not believe our eyes. His sire, our spotted herd sire, Napoleon, and his dam, Red Ray, one of our red jennets, had produced for us one of the cutest little jacks we’ve ever seen. To see him standing beside his mother with his gorgeous spotted coat and Ray with her dark red coat is just unbelievable. What a fantastic job Napoleon and Ray did on this little guy.

This was Ray’s first foal and she was off to a shakey start with Chills. She did not like the towel I had in the stall to help dry off her foal. She tried to attack it which scared me to death. It didn’t take her long to settle down and get used to the fact that this was her new baby and he was awesome!!!! She is making a great first time mom!

Chills is definitely jack material and would make someone a fantastic spotted Jr. Herd Sire. He is small, stout, straight legs, good bite, and personality plus. There is no second guessing this little guy.

We are offering Chills For Sale as a jack or as a gelding. It has taken us a while to come to this decision, but we simply cannot keep them all. He has been weaned from his mother and ready to go to a new home now OR be put on lay-away until Christmas for the very unique Christmas gift you’ve been trying to think of this year.

We have several of our little guys being offered at this time so just call for an appointment and we’ll be happy to show you Chills (who is guaranteed to give you Chills ) Look no further….shop here to fill your Christmas Stockings!

Sire: My World Cimmaron, 33" Dark Red
Grand Sire:  My World Buster, 30¼" Dark Red
Grand Dam:  Rearview's Pansy, 33¾" Light Red

Dam:  Heiken's Ark Sunflower, 32¼" Very Dark Brown & White Spot
Grand Sire:  LN Nickelsworth, 29.75 Brown
Grand Dam:  CDR Ms Sweet Pea, 32¾" Gray & White Spot

We had been anxiously awaiting the birth of this foal. Sunflower, a gorgeous spotted jennet, had been bred to Cimmaron, a gorgeous red jack. There were so many possibilities for him but only time would tell. Our entire Thanksgiving Day was spent watching for him to arrive. It was evident Sunflower was ready to foal it was just a matter of time. It was funny, as many people, watching on Mare Stare, were writing and telling me they were trying to have Thanksgiving Dinner and watch Sunflower at the same time. I could only imagine some of the burnt turkeys and pies people were going to get that day!

Sunflower kept us waiting until early the next morning and then she presented us with one of the nicest very dark brown, or black, (we still can’t tell exact color) and no light points jack we’ve seen. He has such an elegant look about him as he holds his head so high, stands with a show ready pose, ears up, stout and heavy -boned as can be, and just full of himself. He is ready to take the girls for a whirl and the show ring, too, if that is your choice.

Genius, practically named himself since he did everything so quickly. He was standing up in record time, nursing in record time, running around the stall in record time, and causing everyone to talk about what a bright boy he was going to be. He is definitely going to be FIRST in his class whether on your farm, or in the show ring. He has the complete package of what it takes to get the job done.

We are so proud to offer such a nice jack to become the Jr. Herd Sire for your farm. He certainly has a fantastic gene pool with bloodlines coveted by breeders.

Be sure to look at his videos……he is full of spunk to say the least. Call today to make an appointment to see this fine young jack. He won’t last long and it is a great opportunity to get him as soon as he is weaned. It is such a wonderful experience to get your herd sire when he is young and he can bond with you and your family. That makes such a special relationship as he matures and starts to produce some foals of his own.

Grand Sire:  The Fireman, 32½" Dark Red
Grand Dam:  MGF Venus Hallista 70, 33" Brown

Mink was our last jennet to have a foal for the 2007 breeding season. We had her up for quite a while since she was moving right along in the process of getting ready to have her foal. She just kept getting bigger and bigger until we thought for sure she would give birth way before Sunflower. But, donkeys have a mind of their own, and Mink certainly held on to this guy until the last minute.

Late in the afternoon, on November 29th, Mink decided 'show time' was here. She had a textbook delivery and presented us with this handsome dark brown jack. He has a faint star on his forehead that may stay but will most likely fade out as he matures.

We named him Brownie, as he was earning those “brownie points” as soon as he was born. He has the prettiest brown coat, great big happy eyes, and that adorable personality that only a new baby jack can have right after he is born. Mink is so proud of him but he is equally as proud of himself. If you have watched him on our barn cams, I’m sure you’ve seen him strutting around, running around, playing chase in and out of the stalls, and keeping Mink trotting behind him trying to keep up with her new bundle of joy. We have certainly enjoyed watching his barn/stall antics as he constantly amuses us with his un-ending energy.

We are never without Brownie when we are out in the stalls or the paddocks. He is buzzing around us trying to earn even more “brownie points” by showing off. He runs circles around the muck bucket while we are trying to clean, and entertains all the other little ones every chance he gets.

He has already provided us with so many laughs as he runs and plays, basically showing off his tireless energy. We love to have little ones like this who are so full of themselves and playful and help to make our chores go quickly.

We are offering him for sale so please come to visit with Brownie. He is guaranteed to show you a good time! He, too, can be your buddy that provides you with many hours of laughter and fun.

EARN YOUR OWN BROWNIE POINTS by doing your Christmas Shopping with us this year. You will certainly beat the Christmas rush, busy shopping centers, packed parking lots, and GIFT WRAPPING!!! We’ll be more than happy to hold your “special gift” for you until Christmas. Of course, Brownie can’t leave until he is weaned from Mink, but you are more than welcome to visit with him until the time he is ready to come live with you.

Call to set an appointment to come see Brownie and some of our other donkeys we are offering for sale. *Discounts are given when you purchase more than one donkey. AND remember, ”one donkey is a lonely donkey." Donkeys are herd animals and very social. They are more like dogs and love being with their human friends too.

Sire: Windcrest Java, 31¼" Dark Brown
Grand Sire:  Springlake Razmataz, 30½" Light Red

Dam:  LN Miss Nattie, 32" Gray & White Spotted
Grand Sire:  LN Mr. Attitude, 31" Gray & White Spotted
Grand Dam:  LN Norlina Too, 32" Brown/Gray & White Spotted

Frosty is built like a tank with show winning conformation. He looks tall in his photos above but he is just a mere 32½" tall. He has a nice round rear, straight legs, perfect bite and a beautiful head. He is about as sweet and friendly as they come. He can be pastured with jennets and foals. He is easy to catch and handle. Frosty has been line-driven but not yet hooked to a cart. He would be easy to train and would make a flashy driving donkey. He would make an excellent show donkey or pet. He is double registered and can be shown in NMDA sanctioned shows as well as The American Council of Spotted Asses. He has a negative coggins report dated 10/03/07 and he is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile, hoof trimmings, and de-worming. Frosty has been entered in the 2008 Tennessee Donkey ASSociation High Point Awards program which will transfer to his new owner. If Frosty is not sold soon we will begin his driving education and his price will be raised accordingly.

Nickel is a living doll. These photos don't begin to show how cute he is. He is a gorgeous gray color with a huge white star on his forehead that is not showing up in these photos. This wonderful gelding, has mastered the trail course and has a solid start on driving thanks to Jerry Pegelow, his trainer and mentor. Don’t miss the chance to own this friendly gelding that is ready to go straight to the show ring. At the 2007 MO State Fair, he placed 5th in a trail class with over 30 entries and won the Costume Class of 24 entries demonstrating his amazing versatility at just two years old. A gelding like this is priceless–don’t pass him up! He sells complete with cart and harness. I am so tempted to keep this gelding for myself but I am to attached to my own gelding that I have had for years. Nickel has a negative coggins report dated 7/13/07 and he is up to date on all vaccinations, hoof trimmings, and de-worming. He sells with harness and a driving cart!
