Charmed just arrived at Half Ass Acres and we are training her and evaluating her now to decide on a fair price. She is a very sweet and willing donkey that is ready to be added to your brood jennet band now or take her to shows next spring and enjoy her for awhile before you allow her to have foals.  As you can see in the video Charmed has very correct conformation. She is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encepalitis, Tetanus, Rhino, Influenza, Rabies and West Nile. She has had her initial vaccination of Prestige V + West Nile on 11/24/16 and a booster on 12/21/16. She had a rabies vaccination on 11/24/16 as well.  She is up to date on her vaccinations until this time next year. She has had her hooves done by a professional farrier on 12/21/16.  She is also current on de-worming. Charmed has a negative coggins report dated 12/05/16. She has been microchipped and her papers have not yet been sent in so you can name her with your farm name and your name of choice or I will be glad to send her papers in for you. Charmed is a great, great granddaughter of Charlie Bandito.

(coming soon!)

Delila just arrived at Half Ass Acres and we evaluating her now to decide on a fair price. She is ready to be added to your brood jennet band now or take her to shows next spring and enjoy her for awhile before you allow her to have foals.  As you can see in the video Delila is a very pretty girl. She is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encepalitis, Tetanus, Rhino, Influenza, Rabies and West Nile. She had her initial vaccination of Prestige V + West Nile on 11/24/16 and a booster on 12/21/16. She had a rabies vaccination on 11/24/16 as well. So she is up to date on her vaccinations until this time next year. She is also current on de-worming and hoof trims.  Delila has a negative coggins report dated 12/05/16. She has been microchipped and her papers have not yet been sent in so you can name her with your farm name and your name of choice or I will be glad to send her papers in for you. She measures under 33½" and her bite is a little over but looks much better in person than the video shows.

Update: Joe just trimmed Delila's hooves on 12/17/16, and he measured her at 33". Katie measured her closer to 33½" but I am leaving her height at the higher measurement as I would rather she measure smaller when she arrives at your house than taller. I keep forgetting to take new photos/videos of her bite to show you that it really is much, much better than our first video shows. I will do that soon. I have several people interested in this jennet but, so far, no one has sent a deposit.

Update 12/20/16: New footage of Delila's bite and legs is now posted toward the end of her video.  Delila would not close her mouth for the bite photos try as we might to get her to do so. Her legs were not touched nor 'set-up' for the front shots. We let her stop and stand however was comfortable for her. We hope this gives you a better idea of how her conformation compares to the standard for miniature donkeys. We certainly think she measures up.

Tess won the 2011 National Champion Produce of Dam at the 2011 NMDA Nationals in Waco, Texas. She was also the dam of the 2011 Junior National Champion, Myer's Meadows Starburst, and the dam of the 2011 National Champion Two Year Old Jack , 2013 National Champion Jack, and the 2012 Tennessee State Champion Halter Jack, Short Assets Spartan. All of Tess's foals have been red when she was crossed with a red jack.

Tess is tightly bonded with her best friend, Vanilla (see below). To keep these best friends together we will reduce their price to $2500 for the pair. They are both up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile, Rabies, Eastern/Western Encephalomyelitis, Tetanus, Rhino EHV1 & EHV 4, and Influenza Strains A1, A2, Prague 56, Ky '92, Ky '97, Ky 98 & Ky 99 and Bot B to protect against botulism. They have a current negative coggins report dated 11/30/16. They have been on a regular de-worming and hoof trimming schedule. Both jennets are easy to catch and handle and we have had no issues with either of them.

Update: Tess foaled a gorgeous dark spotted jack for her new owners on 5/11/16! We repurchased Tess at the end of 2016 when her owner decided to concentrate on just her miniature horses.

Click the MDR Registration sticker to see  Miniature Donkey Registry Pedigree Sailor's pedigree.

Sailor is stocky, correct, and so very, very tiny although she is now a little overweight. She measures less than 31" tall every time we measure her. Sailor is a full sister to Bedazzled, Miss Hifalutin and Ma Bell, who now resides in Austraila.

Sailor came home from Kathy Loudamy's after three months of intensive training when she was just a two year old. She is now a perfect little lady and will trot beside you on command, side pass, back, etc. Money well spent. Sailor was shown at two shows while she was away and she placed 5th and 4th in her two classes and was a perfect little lady. We are very proud of our little Sailor. Thank you, Kathy, for a job well done. Photos of Sailor clipped above were taken on October 14th, 2008. Didn't Kathy do a great job of getting Sailor into show condition! Sailor did not really 'get into' being a show donkey. She is too laid back. You wouldn't believe how hard it was to get her ears and head up for her new photos. That's ok...she can live out her life here being nothing but a mom to her beautiful babies!

We have been unable to settle Sailor in foal since her first foal so she is selling as a barren jennet. She would make an excellent show prospect as she is already trained to do in-hand trail events. I was going to show her this year but I just purchased a jennet that is already trained to drive and I just can't show them all. We will start training Sailor how to drive soon and as her training progresses her price will go up

She is up to date on all required vaccinations including West Nile, Botulism and Rabies plus all the other required vaccinations. She has a negative coggins report dated 3/14/16. Sailor would make a wonderful Christmas present for someone.
If you take Sailor and Beauty together we will discount their price to $1300 for the pair. We will be glad to hold them until Christmas if needed.

Beauty's name fits her well. She is an exceptional small black jenny with a lovely head. We are very excited to add Beauty to our herd but very sad that Jane Savage of Flight of Fancy Miniatures has now retired from the miniature donkey business. Jane has been a valuable asset to the miniature donkey world and a wonderful mentor to me. Thank you, Jane, for allowing your best to come and live at Half Ass Acres!

When Beauty arrived she was so much better than I could have ever expected. Plus her personality is as sweet as can be. Oh, how I love this jennet..she is as sweet as her full sister, Gidget, who we just recently sold to England. I am so happy to be able to replace her bloodlines in our herd with her sister.

I have been unable to settle Beauty in foal after trying for most of the year. I am selling her as a barren jennet. She is up to date on all required vaccinations including West Nile, Botulism and Rabies and all the other required vaccinations. She has a negative coggins report dated 9/07/16. She would make a wonderful pet or companion animal. She would be great for someone's Christmas surprise. If you take Sailor and Beauty together we will discount their price to $1300 for the pair.

Posy and her foal will be offered for sale together after her baby has been born. She is bred for a September foal. She was pasture exposed from June 1st to August 29th, 2015, to Circle C Victory, a 29 ¾" black jack who was the 2005 Nationals Reserve Champion Jack. Victory was sired by Future Link. Her last foal, HG Donkeys Phinnigin, was born on 2014/12/03. Phinnigin is doing very well in the show ring.

Katie and I took photos and videos of Posy on 9/7/16. You can see that this jennet has beautiful movement. She would make an outstanding harness donkey. Thank you to my sidekick Katie Randall for her expert handling of Posy for her videos.

Posy foaled a dark brown jack on 9/24/16. They will be offered for sale as a pair. We will be taking photos and videos of the new foal in a day or two when it cools off and he has unfolded.

Our foaling season this year has been awesome. With each birth we seem to have been blessed with unique and absolutely gorgeous foals.

This is Felina’s second baby, her first, Radiance, is now a Herd Sire in Arizona. Hissy looks exactly like her brother, Ray, except she only has a few tiny hairs for a star and Ray has a large star. In fact, she looks so much like him that we would have named her Red Ray if we had not already used that name.

On June 5th, 2009, Felina started the day out as if she was in early labor and was placed in a stall. That did not make her happy so as she continued showing more and more signs of labor we moved her to the birthing stall. She paced, and paced, and was very agitated to be so confined. We were unable to put her buddy in the next stall because we had filled that stall with hay a few days before. I went in her stall to sit with her and if I tried to leave she threw a fit. Those watching on Mare Stare were talking about how unhappy she seemed to be and wondered what was taking place. One person sent me this text message, “Felina is so spoiled, she even has to have her mom in the delivery room with her. What a hissy fit she is throwing!" That is when we knew what we would name this precious new baby.

New photos and videos were taken on October 30th, 2015. Thank you to Katie Randall for her expert handling of Hissy Fit during her photo shoot. Without Katie's help these photos would not have been possible. Hissy Fit is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile, Rabies and Botulism.
She has a negative coggins report dated 12/16/16.

We have been unsuccessful in getting Hissy Fit to settle in foal. We had her sold and our customers chose another donkey instead so Hissy is back on the for sale page. Until she is sold we are going to continue to try to get her in foal. If we do settle her in foal her price will go way up as she is one fantastic jennet in conformation, color and personality.

We regretted selling Pockets from the day she left our farm as a weanling and now we finally have her back when her previous owner could not settle her in foal. We will be pairing Pockets up with her stablemate, Ladylike, and teaching them both tricks soon! Thank you to Katie Randall for her expert handling of Pockets for her photo shoot.

We just did not have the time or the energy to teach Pockets how to do tricks so when we sold Mon Cheri she needed a best friend and we decided to let Pockets fill that role. If these donkeys are ever sold they are promised back to us and they are staying in Tennessee. Pockets has been started in driving and she took right to it. I would have kept her but she is much to small for me

We owned Pink Bouquet from 2005 until 2007 when she was sold to Texas. We purchased Pinkie and her daughter, Posey, (who is due to foal in August) along with three geldings just so we would have donkeys to offer for sale. Pink Bouquet is sired by Red Glo whose bloodline is loaded with Champions and she is out of a small Champion jennet whose dam was also a Champion. This girl has that distinctive look.....refined head, great headset, and a balanced body.

Pink Bouquet was bred to Circle C Victory, a 29 ¾" black jack who was the 2005 National Reserve Champion Jack. Victory was sired by Future Link. Pinkie's last foal, HG Donkeys Paisley, was born on 10/27/14.

Pinkie and her foal are offered together. We had three different people measure Pink Bouquet several times and although her papers state her height is 33 ½" I can guarantee you that she is not a hair over 32 ½ inches.

All reference photos are compliments of The Lazy N Ranch in Iowa, Circle C Ranch in Canada and HG Donkeys in Texas..

We just recentely purchased Dawn from a breeder who is cutting back their herd. She was out of a brood jennet that we sold in foal. Her previous owner showed her in several NMDA shows and she did very well accumulating points towards her excellence in halter. Dawn is a very sweet and sensitive girl who would rather be with you than her donkey friends. She is red in the summer but looks pink in the wintertime. She has a wonderful topline and correct legs.

Dawn's Show Record:

(With very limited showing Dawn ended the season in 7th place out of 18 jennets that showed in Tennessee in the Yearling jennets class. Dawn only needs 11 more points to earn her Excellence in Halter award.)

5th - 2015 NMDA Music City Show - Yearling Jennets (1 point)

LOOK WHAT SHOWED UP AT OUR FARM!!!!! Is she real or is she a stuffed donkey on wheels??

As all of you know we get very excited about our jennets foaling. We get both excited AND anxious when the jennet is a maiden. Ramona is one of the smallest jennets we own, and, for that reason, we waited well beyond her 3rd birthday to breed her. We chose Napoleon to be Ramona’s first “encounter” with a jack. Boy, are we pleased with that pairing.

Ramona basically spit herself out with this little girl. She is ever so tiny but has the biggest heart and personality you can imagine. She struts around wearing her thick dark brown coat, no light points, with head held so high you would think someone had a “string” around her neck taking their “pull-toy” for a stroll in the park.   It was unbelievable how perfectly balanced she looked immediately following her birth.  Joe and I were anxious to get her weight and height…..she was a 4 X 4 … 19 ½“ tall and weighed 19 ¼ lbs. She was about as big as a square stick of butter full of lots of sugar. She had all the ingredients of a square piece of delicious chocolate cake. Yum, Yum.. we could just smooch on her all day. Like a sweet piece of cake, we simply cannot get enough of “Pull- String Toy”. Thank you, Sandy Dorris, for thinking of the perfect name for her!!

Toy has been pasture exposed to Bruise for a foal due on April 20th, 2017.

We sold Miss HiFalutin as a newborn for $5000 in 2008. We just purchased her back from her owners that are having severe health problems plus they are moving and have no place to keep her. She has just been a cherished pet and lived the life of luxuary with her best friend, Bets (see below). She came back to us with a severe weight problem and we are slowly but surely getting her back down to a reasonable weight. We will breed her this spring for her first foal that will be due in 2016. We are thrilled to have her back as she is sired by our now retired and gelded former herd sire, Peppercorn, and out of one of our favorite and now deceased brood jennets, Glorianna. She is a full sister to Bedazzled, Ma Bell (now residing in Australia) and Hey Sailor.

HiFalutin has been hand bred to Kryptonite for a foal due June 1st, 2017. This will be her first foal. These fabulous photos would not have been possible without Katie Randall's expert assistance.

Baby is the result of Kathy Loudamy’s fine breeding program at K & K Ranch in Texas. She is no longer breeding donkeys and we could not believe how very fortunate we were to be able to obtain this jennet. Baby’s full sister is one of only two jennets that Kathy retained when she dispersed her herd.

For such a small donkey, Baby is super correct with nice width in front and back, a perfect topline, straight legs and a fantastic hip. She has a beautiful, small head. She is dark brown with white points but looks almost black when she sheds out in the summer. Her sire is Sunset Acres Rowdy Yates (sadly now deceased), and her pedigree includes Little Motown, My World Buster, and Pine Grove Farm’s Peppercorn Jack.

This is Baby's resting year as her 2015 foal was just weaned. She is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile and Rabies and she will have a negative coggins test pulled soon. We are not really anxious to sell Baby but we need to reduce our numbers due to family health problems. I will reduce her price if you have bought donkeys from us in the past....just ask!

Baby had her first foal on 6/29/15. The foal is a beautifully marked brown and white spotted jennet. She has now been pasture exposed to Zoo for a foal due on March 26th, 2017.

Cold weather snuck up on us this fall so it looks like it may be next year before we have clipped off photos of this wonderful jennet. Ritz is the first daughter of our new herdsire, Kryptonite. We went ahead and took unclipped videos and photos on December 3rd, 2015. She will be gorgeous when we are able to body clip her next spring and take new photos and videos. We love this little girl. A big 'thank you' to Katie Randall who trains all our foals and makes these beautiful videos possible.

This little girl will be around 30" to 31" tall when mature. My other foals her age tower over her. Ritz has already had 3 out of the 5 vaccinations we give our foals before they leave. We will vaccinate her with the last two soon. She has been weaned and she is eating well. This jennet is so very friendly that we had a hard time taking her photos. She just wants to be by your side constantly. Her price will be discounted if you purchase more than one donkey or if you have purchased donkeys from us in the past.

Ritz holds the record for the fastest donkey we have ever sold. We listed her on our for sale page one minute and the next minute she was sold. Good thing because I was about to change my mind and keep her.

Ritz is leaving for her new home on Saturday February 6th, 2016, so we just had to take more photos and videos of her to show everyone what she has learned while waiting to go to her new home. trained and handled by Miss Katie Randall.

We photographed Red doing trail today but we did not drive him as he was a little ouchy on one foot from his fresh hoof trim. We will try again the next time Katie is here to help me and the weather is good.

Red is trained to drive and also trained to do in-hand obstacles. He has been team driven many times as well. He was started in harness by Jim Tippee in Texas, then his grand daughter trained him in hand and showed him in youth for several years. He was later sold and trained by Lee Thomas of Missouri. Red was good for his bath and haircut except he was not real happy about us trimming his ears and face but he endured it with gritted teeth. He is a very, very willing in-hand performance gelding. He goes through water obstacles and jumps like a champ. He will also side-pass with ease. We will be driving him another day and I am sure he will be just as talented with that as well.

Red is a beautiful donkey. His color will be a bright, vivid red in a few weeks since we just body clipped him and it takes a while for a medium or dark red donkey's color to come back in to it's natural color.

UPDATE! We have taken photos and videos of Red Light driving and snigging on 10/18/16. They are now posted at the end of his video above. Red Light drives like the gentleman he has always been since we have owned him. He is very calm and willing to do all that you ask of him.

Red Light was shown by a youth in open shows for several years in Texas. Red Light helped this youth to win the following awards:

2008 SDMS Summer Sizzler Reserve Youth High Point
2009 State Fair of Texas Youth High Point
2013 River Valley Reserve Champion Team Driving
(driven by Jim Tippee of Lil Graceland Miniature Donkey Farm)

This gorgeous, flashy gelding was born here in 2008. We named him Streak of Lightning but his new owners changed his name to Wini's Loco. They have owned him for eight years and needed to reduce their herd so they decided to sell him back to us along with his best friend Diablo. These two geldings must not be separated as they have been lifelong friends. They would make a wonderful driving team or individual show donkeys. Loco is up to date on all vaccinations, de-wormings and hoof trims. He has a negative coggins dated 8/03/16. These photos would not be possible without the expert handling of Katie Randall. I do so appreciate her. My life has been blessed to have her to help me do everything around here. Praise the Lord for Katie Randall! He is spectacular in every way...but his half brother and best friend is pretty darn nice too. If I did not already have all the geldings I can handle I would be keeping both of these boys.

Diablo is Loco's life long best friend and they must stay together. Diablo was also born here at Half Ass Acres. We had named him Atta Boy Adam and his new owner's changed his name to Dodie's Diablo. When they needed to reduce their herd to make room for two riding horses they decided to sell them back to us. Diablo has show quality conformation just like his half brother Loco. Both would make terrific show geldings, or a nice harness team or just beautiful donkeys for your backyard. They are both very friendly and easy to catch and handle. They get along with other horses and donkeys. Diablo is also up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile and Rabies. He has a negative coggins report dated 8/5/16. If we keep these geldings long enough to teach them to drive their price will go up. These photos and videos would not have been possible without the help of Katie Randall. She is the greatest...thank you Katie. I appreciate you so much.

Toby was just bathed and clipped. (Note in photos above how Katie trimmed out a heart on Toby's hip.) Toby is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile (5/16/16) and Rabies (5/18/16). He was de-wormed the next day and he has a negative coggins dated 3/01/16.

Toby is trained to drive and started on in-hand performance. He has been driven as a team many times paired up with Red Light listed above also for sale. We have only had Toby here for a few days but he is a sweetheart. Easy to catch and handle and a sweetheart for his bath and hair cut. We have only driven Toby one time and we may change our minds after we have put more miles on him but we feel that he would only be suitable for an intermediate or advanced driver. Toby has a lot of get up and go and he does not have the smoothest brakes. We will have our equine dentist float his teeth and pull his wolfe teeth, etc. and maybe then he will be more responsive. It could be that we are using the wrong type of bit on him and we will experiement with other bits to see if he likes them better. He would be a great project for someone that wanted to show as he loves to go and has a lot of speed. He would be very competitive in speed classes. He is a fun in-hand trail donkey. It did not take us but one time to show him something new and he tried his best to please us. He would be a wonderful addition to your family as he could take you for drives or just be a pet if you so desired.

Grand Sire: Evan's Bluff Miniatures Solstice, 30¼" Light Red
Grand Dam: Engman's Apache Girl, 34½" Brown & White Spotted

Dam:   Quarter Moon Ebony, 32½" Dark Brown, NLP
Grand Sire: Circle C Red Tape, 33" Dark Red
Grand Dam: Quarter Moon Elsie, 32" Gray-Dun (National Champion Jennet)

Flash is registered as a red/brown but he is without a doubt a true dark red with red eyelashes. His color is about as bright as it can be so he was appropriately named Flash of Crimson. Flash has been life long best friends with his half brother Drummer Boy (see below) so they must go to a home together.

Flash and his brother were left out on very rich pasture several years ago and were allowed to become too heavy and they also had a touch of founder. They have no visible effects in their hooves or gait but we want to be sure to place them with someone that has limited pasture so they can continue to lose weight.

Katie Randall, their breeder and original owner, will be working with these boys to teach them in-hand trail obstacle course exercises and make them more suitable for ambassador donkeys. They were both given a Prestige V + West Nile vaccination on 8/04/16 and a booster on 8/27/16. They were also given a rabies vaccination in August so they are good on vaccinations until this time next year. They have a negative coggins report dated 9/07/16.

We are selling them by private treaty because they must both have a very special home before we will allow them to leave our farm. Here is your chance to get two very nice donkeys at a very reasonable price. If we decide that you have the perfect home for these two boys we will allow them to remain here at no extra charge until Katie can teach them how to be wonderful companions for some lucky family.

Drummer Boy is an exceptionally sweet boy and has been life long best friends with his half brother Flash of Crimson (see above) so they must go to a home together.

Drummer Boy and his brother were left out on very rich pasture several years ago and were allowed to become too heavy and they also had a touch of founder. They have no visible effects in their hooves or gait but we want to be sure to place them with someone that has limited pasture so they can continue to lose weight.

As always a big thank you to my expert handler, Katie Randall. Without her help none of these photos and videos would be possible. Katie is the pied piper of donkeys. The donkeys will do anything for her and I am blessed to have her in my life.

Vic was born in the wee hours of the morning and we slept through the whole thing since our barn cams are still out of order. Thank you to Emily Steenhout for coming up with the perfect name for Vic. Even though my friend, Glenda Lawrence, wanted me to name him "Negative, My Ass" since his mom tested negative for pregnancy last month when she passed her due date.

HG Donkey's Phinnigan, High Point Champion at the Oklahoma State Fair in September 2016!Victory Lap's full brother, Phinnigan, won HG Donkey's Phinnigan, High Point Champion at the Oklahoma State Fair in September 2016!High Point Champion in Oklahoma this weekend in a pre-green division of 9 mini donkeys. He is 21 months old now, smart, and willing in the show ring. We feel that Vic, will follow in his brother's hoof steps. Vic will be offered for sale along with his dam, Designer Donkeys' Posy.

This has to be one of the sweetest donkeys ever. He is trained to pull a cart and do all performance classes. He has been shown successfully by his previous owner who is going through a divorce and moving and had to sell her donkeys. We ran out of daylight before we could take videos of him driving, etc. but we will hook him up and video him driving sometime in the current week. We will determine his price after we have driven him. He is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile and Rabies and he is current on de-wormings and hoof trims. This is a very safe and sweet boy. He gets along with all donkeys including foals and jennets. He is easy to catch and handle.Tucson has a very slight underbite that is well within the legal limits and poses no problems for him whatsover.
